A petition concerning the detention of Comrade Ntari Hassan Danladi has been brought before the National Assembly, sparking renewed calls for his unconditional release. According to Jafaru Abubakar Mairiga, Secretary of the 2021 Special Committee on the Case of Comr. Ntari Hassan Danladi, a court judgment had previously ordered Danladi’s release, but the Department of State Services (DSS) continues to hold him illegally.

The case of Comrade Ntari Hassan Danladi has garnered significant attention, with his wife, Mrs. Caroline Markus, accusing the DSS and the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, of illegal detention. Danladi was arrested by DSS operatives in his office at Mumuye House, Mile Six, Jalingo, Taraba State.

Mairiga, in a statement signed by him as Secretary of the special committee, revealed that the committee, established under the Shun Mumuye Woorawo Yuta Movement, made concerted efforts to ensure the matter received due attention. Barrister P. D. Pius voluntarily took up the case, securing a court judgment for Danladi’s unconditional release without demanding or collecting any payment.

In light of the National Assembly’s attention to the matter, Mairiga emphasized that any attempt to commercialize or politicize the case for personal gain would be a betrayal of justice and principle. The case, Mairiga stressed, is not for sale, and those who genuinely sought justice without reward deserve gratitude.
