Vandals Damage TCN’s Gwagwalada-Katampe Transmission Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) reported that vandals have destroyed its 330 kV Gwagwalada-Katampe Transmission Line, leading to a reduction of 250 MW in power supply flexibility and volume into Abuja. The incident occurred on Monday night at approximately 11:32 p.m. According to TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the destruction occurred when tower 70 on the transmission line collapsed due to the destruction of its four tower footings.
