Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has issued a warning to Igbos in Lagos State who are building structures without permission. According to Iwuanyanwu, Ohanaeze might have trouble defending Igbos who disobey Lagos building laws. He announced at a news conference that he had discovered that the land acquisition laws were broken by every house that was demolished. Emefiele still held in Kuje Prison seven days after being granted bail.

Godwin Emefiele, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), remains detained in Kuje Prison in Abuja, seven days after he was granted release. The bail conditions placed on the former head of CBN, by the Federal Capital Territory's High Court, have not been fulfilled. Emefiele was granted N300 million bail by Judge Hamza Muazu on November 22. Justice Muazu had ruled that Emefiele had to show two sureties who had to be landowners in the Federal Capital Territory's Maitama District.
