Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Thursday night led a delegation of Senate leadership to visit the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in his Aso Villa residence, Abuja. ‘The Nigeria Daily’ gathered that Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonna Onu; Hon. Nkiru Onyeojecha, and Chief George Muoghalu were part of the early callers. A rights group, Nigeria Arise Against Crime (NAAC), has written President Muhammadu Buhari, asking him to without further delay, sack the current Service Chiefs. NAAC said that dismissing these security chiefs would rescue Nigeria and the current government from the embarrassment of losing several lives to insurgents and bandits on a daily basis. Buhari Govt: 2,900 payments worth N51bn paid into personal accounts – BudgIT

BudgIT has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the payment of government funds into personal accounts. This call was made after a study of the Open Treasury Initiative of the Federal Government. The Buhari administration on December 9, 2019, launched the Open Treasury Portal. The purpose is to increase transparency in government spending. On Thursday, BudgIT released its report titled Open treasury “OpenTreasury.gov.ng Nigeria’s Spending Platform: Review, Gaps and Recommendations”.
