Revisiting 134% Increase In Minimum Wage (70k): Ajaero, Osifo, Organized Labour Living And Leaving To Fight Another Day.

Column, Economy, News, Opinion, PoliticsBola Ahmed Tinubu, Chris Nwaokobia, Economy, Next Level, Nigeria, Nwaokobia Jnr, Politics

I am compelled to do this incisive effort which is apparently targeted at putting the records straight ditto the decision of Organized Labour to settle for a 134% increase in Minimum Wage thus taking the minimum wage from 30k to 70k rather than insisting on the 250k which was the position until the last meeting Organized Labour had with Mr. President and his Team. There is a preponderance of angry opinions out there seeking to lampoon and vilify the position of Organized Labour, some have said that Labour sold out, others have argued that 70k is not good enough, and…

YOU ARE RIGHT, I’M A MAD MAN” – Pastor Abel Damina responds Pastor Adeboye

Metro, News, OpinionMetro, Opinion, Religion

Pastor Abel Damina, a controversial clergyman, has strongly reacted to comments made by Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the current General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in a recent sermon. Dr. Abel Damina, known for his controversial teachings, has been consistently criticizing Pastor Enoch Adeboye, particularly in his YouTube videos. One of Damina’s most popular and provocative criticisms of Adeboye was in response to a sermon where Adeboye stated that Christians who do not pay their tithes will not go to heaven. In a viral video, Abel Damina vehemently disagreed with Adeboye’s belief that tithing is a…

The Looming Protest: Joe Igbokwe, Bayo Onanuga And The Age Of Unreason.

Metro, News, Opinion, Politics, Sponsored2027, Chris Nwaokobia, Metro, Nwaokobia Jnr, Opinion

The two individuals that no longer surprise me at all are Citizens Joe Igbokwe and Bayo Onanuga, however in the present instance I wonder what sycophancy and court-jesting have done to their ability to discern the times and by jove incline their hearts to wisdom, apologies to the Holy Book. Joe Igbokwe in the service of his master decided perhaps without deep research to do the greatest disservice to the present watch. In threatening the Igbo in Lagos and across the Country, Citizen Joe Igbokwe has forgotten that hunger and poverty are indiscriminate of Region, Religion and ethnicity. He has…

Tinubu’s LG autonomy gamble – Abiodun

News

By abiodun KOMOLAFE "Local government is not just about politics, it's about people's lives." - Eric Garcetti At last, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has ruled in favor of Nigeria's 774 Local Governments (LGs)! May God’s name be praised! Yes, the Supreme Court's ruling is a significant victory, ordering 20.6% of the federation account allocation to be paid directly to LG accounts, as constitutionally mandated! But how did Nigeria descend to this point? It's clear that most state governors sought to control LGs by appointing their herds and apparatchiks as council chairmen, thus disregarding elections. President Bola Tinubu deserves the…

...AND REVITALIZING SOUTHEAST FEDERAL ROADS In a momentous gathering of Southeast stakeholders alongside the esteemed Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi on the 17th of July 2024 in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Ohanaeze Ndigbo resoundingly applauds and commends the unwavering resolve, iron will, purposefulness, and decisiveness exhibited by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in confronting the long-standing infrastructural deficits, deficiencies, and neglect plaguing the Southeast region for over five decades. Following the conclusion of the Nigeria-Biafra war in January 1970, Nigerians, particularly Ndigbo, were acquainted with the policy decree of General Yakubu Gowon, the 3Rs (Reconciliation, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction), designed to reintegrate…
