Herdsmen invade Enugu community, kidnap six pilgrims

Suspected armed Fulani men, reportedly wearing police uniforms, last Sunday, invaded Ibite Awhum community, in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State and kidnapped six Christian pilgrims. The victims were abducted near a monastery in the town. A source disclosed that the kidnappers took the pilgrims in broad daylight while they were praying at a popular hill near the Monastery and took them deep into the forest. However, reports emerging g from the community on Tuesday indicated that the victims had been rescued following the spirited efforts of forest guards from both the Udi and Enugu East Local Government councils.…

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed a Senior Secondary School 3 student of the Marist Comprehensive Academy, Uturu, Abia State, Donald Edeh. The hoodlums also reportedly robbed motorists and passengers who were en route to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from Enugu State. 5,890 terrorists surrendered in past three weeks, says military

Defence Media Operations (DMO) has disclosed that in the past few weeks, a total of 5,890 terrorists, comprising foot soldiers, field commanders and their families, have surrendered to counter-insurgency troops in the North East. Director, Defence Media Operations, Brigadier General Bernard Onyeuko, who made the disclosure, yesterday, also said another 565 Boko Haram terrorists, comprising three Commanders, four Amirs, five Nakibs and five cattle rustling specialists (out of the surrendered terrorists and their family members), were handed over to the Borno State government in Maiduguri for further action after discreet profiling. Open grazing ban: There’ll be no peace – Fulani group warns Southern govs

A Fulani group, Gan Allah Fulani Development Association, GAFDAN, has warned against the resolution of Southern governors to ban open grazing. GAFDAN said a ban on open grazing would lead to a breakdown of peace between Northerners and Southerners. The group insisted that the decision of the governors would groom hatred between Southerners and Northerners. Southern governors under the umbrella of the Southern Governors’ Forum, SGF, had agreed to ban open grazing in their region. Some gunmen have invaded Iganga town in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State, causing collateral damages in the town, OHAFIA-TV News has gathered through a Daily Post reports.
