ASUU reveals real reason it called off eight-month strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has explained why it called off its eight-month strike. ASUU National President, Emmanuel Osodeke, said the eight months strike was called off following a court order and appeals from Nigerians. Court jails Kwara poly student over $9,891 fraud

A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday sentenced a 31-year-old student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Bashiru Azeez, to six months imprisonment over $9,891 fraud. Justice Adebayo Yusuf handed down the sentence while ruling on a fraud case instituted by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Bashiru who is from Oyan in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State is a student in the Marketing Department of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. The accused person was charged with one count offense of defrauding a client of $9,891 by the anti-graft agency.…
