The Isuikwuato Council Of Chiefs has reiterated their support for the Labour Party Candidate for Abia North Senatorial Zone in 2023, Chief Nnamdi Iro Oji, popular known as Opotoyom as the only candidate that will deliver maximum dividends of democracy to the grassroots as a seasoned and experienced manager of men and resources over the years. After a successful meeting with them on 22nd October 2022, the revered Chiefs adopted him, prayed, and threw their weight behind him, promising to mobilize the electorates with enough education on the necessity attached to electing a man that will understand the pulse of…

Hon. Nkole Takes Urgent Steps To Arrest Erosion Menace At Igwu River.

Abia State, Lifestyle, Metro, Ohafia, PoliticsAbia State, Lifestyle, Metro, Nigeria, Ohafia, Politics, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole

My attention has been drawn to the very rapid coastal erosion along the shoreline of the Igwu River by the dangerous Omenuko Bridge abutting the paved Access Road of F107 at the Ozu Abam Section Arochukwu Local Government Area. The development arose from the intensity of the rainfalls as witnessed recently leading to the inundation/overflow of the River bank .The Igwu River is the collector basin for all run offs for the entire Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency and beyond. The emerging scenes from the pictures is disturbing and a serious threat to lives and property particularly the Road users on this…

By Awa Kalu I first met the late Professor U.U Uche, when I was a young lecturer at the University of Lagos. Prof, as I later learned to call him, had recently returned from his stint in various capacities overseas. He had just established legal practice with late Chief Ojo Maduekwe( who himself later flourished in various capacities) in the firm name, U.U Uche & Associates. That first meeting was occasioned by the late Emeka Ezera, who as a postgraduate student at Harvard University, had come on a visit to Nigeria. Emeka walked into my office while I was reading…

Abians Robbed; Democratic Dividends Raped, Justice In Coma

Abia State, Ohafia, Opinion, Politics2023, Abia State, Next Level, Nigeria, Ohafia, Ohafia4Gov2023, Opinion, Politics, Ukpai Iro Ukpai

I have stood within the closest perimeter to view our dear state of Abia; I have also stood at a distance to take the same view; and I discovered that in our God's Own State, there is no cause for control; everything is under alarm. Understandably, in the context of contemporary politics and politicking, good governance is not predicated on oratory of tongues and eloquence of words; neither is it premised on party leanings and affiliations. Good governance is a function of individual traits and their peculiar dynamism - the psychological, mental, social, intellectual, spiritual and other make ups of…
