Residents of Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa states, on Saturday, filed out to cast their ballot during the off-season governorship elections amid violence and alleged manipulation of the system. DAILY POST reports that about 5,169,692 eligible voters collected their Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, for the election. The exercise, which was held in 10,470 polling units across the three states, was, however, marred by thuggery and cries of manipulation. Appeal Court overturns Tribunal’s decision, upholds Ibe Okwara’s election victory.

The Court of Appeal in Lagos has overturned the decision of the National Assembly Election Tribunal in Umuahia that declared Daniel Okeke of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the last election in Abia State's Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency. A tribunal panel led by Justice Adeyinka Aderebgbe sacked the member representing the Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency, Hon. Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, for non-compliance with the Electoral Act 2022, in response to a petition filed by the All Progressives Congress candidate in the election, Chief Daniel Okeke. However, the Appeal Court has overturned the ruling.
