NNPC to sign gas pipeline agreement with Morocco

the Nigerian National Oil Company (NNPC) Limited said it will sign agreements on the gas pipeline project with Morocco’s National Office for Hydrocarbons and Mines and the ECOWAS Commission on Thursday. NNPCL said the deal is expected to boost the implementation of the 7,000 km Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project. The Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline was proposed in a December 2016 agreement between the NNPC and the Moroccan National Office for Hydrocarbons and Mines (Junta Nacional de Hidrocarburos y Minas). Court gives DSS go-ahead to detain Tukur Mamu, bandits negotiator

A Federal High Court, Abuja, has granted a prayer by the Department of State Services (DSS) to detain the former terrorists’ negotiator, Tukur Mamu, for 60 more days. NAN reports that Justice Nkeonye Maha ruled on the ex-parte motion moved by counsel for the DSS, Ahmed Magaji. Court postpones FG’s lawsuit against striking uni. professors

The National Industrial Tribunal of Nigeria (NICN), a Court laden with the responsibility for settling labor disputes on Monday, adjourned the lawsuit filed by the federal government challenging the ongoing strike of the Union of Academic Staff of Universities (ASUU). The judge, PI Hamman, adjourned the lawsuit until September 16 to receive further subpoenas. In Monday’s proceedings, the Socioeconomic Rights and Accountability Project (Serap), sought to join the lawsuit as an interested party. US online university graduates over 400 Nigerians as ASUU strike rages on.

More than 400 Nigerian students have graduated from N^exford university (NXU), an American online university, for the 2021 to 2022 session. The online university, according to Country Director Olamidun Majekodunmi-Ogundoyin, was launched in the country in 2019 and has since enrolled over 3,000 students in Nigeria. Although the university said it does not see itself as a beneficiary of the ongoing protracted strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), it acknowledged that it saw significant growth in claims during the strike.
