HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha, Ohuruzo I of Umuohuru Kingdom and Grand Patron of Ezenaebiri, in his new year message, has called on the people of Umuohuru, Umuahia North LGA, Abia State, and Nigerians at large to embrace the new year with renewed faith, unity of purpose, and a shared resolve to build a more prosperous society.
Speaking from the throne of Umuohuru Kingdom, the revered monarch described the passing year as a period that tested endurance but also strengthened collective resolve.

“The year behind us demanded patience, sacrifice, and courage from our people. Yet, it equally reminded us that even in difficult times, hope remains alive when we stand together,” he said.
HRH Eze Aguocha expressed confidence that 2026 holds greater promise, stressing that Nigeria’s future remains bright if citizens remain united, prayerful, and committed to constructive engagement with leadership at all levels.
He encouraged everyone not to surrender to despair amid economic and social pressures, noting that nations rise when their people refuse to give up on themselves.
As the custodian of tradition and a father to the people, the royal father reaffirmed his dedication to fostering peace, harmony, and development within the Umuohuru Kingdom. According to him, peace remains the strongest currency for progress, while empowerment and education are the surest pathways to sustainable growth.
Highlighting recent developments, HRH Eze Aguocha commended the empowerment initiatives facilitated by the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha noting that the programmes have directly impacted constituents through skills support, economic inclusion, and capacity-building efforts.
He described these empowerment drives as timely interventions that help families withstand economic pressures and create opportunities for self-reliance, especially among youths and women.
“When representation translates into tangible empowerment for the people, it strengthens trust and renews confidence in governance,” the monarch noted.
The traditional ruler also used the occasion to reiterate his strong support for the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, commending the governor’s people-oriented approach to governance in Abia State.
He observed that Governor Otti’s emphasis on accountability, prudent management of resources, and service delivery continues to set a refreshing standard for leadership, reassuring Abians that governance can indeed be sincere and impactful.
HRH Eze Aguocha called on Ndi Abia to remain supportive of policies and reforms that promote equity, development, and the common good, stressing that meaningful progress is best achieved when leaders and citizens work in partnership.
As 2026 unfolds, he urged individuals, families, and communities to recommit themselves to faith, hard work, and mutual respect, reminding all that nation-building is a collective responsibility.
He concluded with prayers for divine wisdom for leaders, peace across communities, and prosperity for Nigeria, wishing everyone a fulfilling, peaceful, and productive New Year.
