Bishop Prof. Emeka Nwankpa, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Abia State, and National Convener of South East Mandate for Good Governance, has expressed strong confidence that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will record what he described as ‘sweeping victories’ across the country in the 2027 general elections. The cleric and prominent political stakeholder, who recently made his official declaration for the party, stated this on Wednesday while hosting leaders and key stakeholders of the ADC at a strategic meeting.
According to Bishop Prof. Nwankpa, the growing momentum within the party, coupled with its expanding national appeal, positions the ADC as a formidable political force ahead of 2027. He noted that the wave of defections and new memberships currently being witnessed across various states is a clear indication that Nigerians are yearning for a credible alternative built on integrity, inclusiveness, and good governance.

He used the occasion to once again preach peace, unity, and internal cohesion within the party, stressing that electoral success can only be achieved when all dissenting voices and divergent interests are harmonised. According to him, unity of purpose remains the strongest weapon for any political organisation seeking national relevance and victory.
“For the ADC to win convincingly, we must put aside personal ambitions, bury our differences, and work together as one united family. A divided house cannot stand,” he emphasised.
Bishop Prof. Nwankpa further called on party members at all levels to shun rancour, embrace dialogue, and prioritise the collective interest of the party over individual considerations, noting that the ultimate goal is to rescue Nigeria through purposeful and people-oriented leadership.
It is also noteworthy that several prominent politicians from across the South-East region, who are members of the South East Mandate for Good Governance, have already begun implementing the directive of the Bishop Prof Nwankpa, who is the Convener of the South East Mandate for Good Governance, by formally joining the ADC. Their defection, observers say, further underscores the party’s growing national spread and cross-regional acceptance.
The meeting was attended by a large crowd of party faithful, supporters, and new entrants, many of whom pledged their commitment to the ideals of the ADC and expressed optimism that the party would emerge as a major contender in the 2027 elections.
With increasing grassroots mobilisation and strategic alliances across geopolitical zones, the ADC, with leaders like Bishop Prof. Emeka Nwankpa, appears set to play a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s political future.
