The 2027 political movement around the candidacy of Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole for the Abia North Senatorial Zone has continued to gather momentum, with the former federal lawmaker intensifying grassroots engagements across the senatorial district.
As part of the ongoing consultations, Hon. Uko Nkole on Wednesday met with youth coordinators representing the 13 wards in Bende Local Government Area in Lodu Nkpa, Bende LGA.

The meeting convened at the residence of Mr. Emeka Philips, popularly known as Ikukuoma Bende, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Bende South State Constituency.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the youth coordinators to deliberate on the 2027 political project, grassroots mobilisation and the need for effective representation at both the national and state levels.
At the centre of the discussions was also the broader NDC agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections, including the presidential candidacy of Mr. Peter Obi.
Peter Obi has been ratified as the NDC presidential candidate for the 2027 election with Alhaji Rabiu Musa Nwankwaso as his running mate, while Uko Nkole is the party’s candidate for the Abia North Senatorial Zone.
For Nkole, the engagement with the Bende youth coordinators represents another step in taking the message of the Peter Obi-led presidential project and the NDC’s political agenda directly to communities and grassroots stakeholders across Abia North.
The former member of the House of Representatives has consistently positioned his senatorial bid around experience, renewed representation and the determination to complete abandoned constituency projects while attracting new developmental opportunities to Abia North.
His choice of the NDC platform has also been linked to his belief that the party provides a broader political vehicle for advancing what he describes as a new direction for Nigeria and effective representation for the people of Abia North.
The meeting in Lodu Nkpa further underscores the growing importance of youth mobilisation in the 2027 electoral contest, particularly as political parties and candidates continue to strengthen their grassroots structures ahead of the polls.
With Bende being a critical component of the Abia North Senatorial District, engagements with ward-level youth coordinators are expected to remain an important part of the Uko Nkole campaign as the political season gathers momentum.
The meeting ended with renewed emphasis on grassroots coordination, mobilisation and building a strong political structure capable of taking the Peter Obi and Uko Nkole messages to voters across Bende and the wider Abia North Senatorial Zone.
