2027: Why Bende Needs Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe – From Sports Commissioner To Federal Representative

As Bende moves towards the 2027 general elections, one question is on the lips of every well-meaning son and daughter of Bende: Can we get it right this time?

For years, Bende Federal Constituency has not lacked human capacity, but we have lacked quality, accessible, and equitable representation. We have seen leaders who only remember Ugwueke when election is near, who only remember Item, Alayi, Igbere and Uzuakoli when they need votes.

Ndi Bende, it is time to choose a man who has been tested, who has served, and who still has more to offer. That man is Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe — Former Commissioner for Sports, Abia State and Leading Aspirant under the platform of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Bende Federal House of Representatives 2027.*l

Hon. Karibe Ojigwe is not new to governance. As Abia State Commissioner for Sports, he served with passion, humility and accessibility. In that office, he did not lock himself in Government House. He opened the doors for Abia youths. He promoted grassroots sports, discovered young talents, and gave many Abia youths a sense of belonging.

He understands how government works. He understands how to lobby, how to attract projects, and how to make Abuja listen to Bende. Bende does not need a learner in the Green Chamber. Bende needs a man who has tasted leadership and wants to do more.

WHY BENDE SHOULD TRUST HON. KARIBE WITH THE HOUSE OF REPS TICKET:

1. He Will Not Be A Seasonal Representative:
   As Commissioner, he was always on the field, not just in office. He will bring that same energy to the House of Reps. He will not wait till 2031 to rehabilitate our roads or donate ambulances. He will work from Day One. He will have constituency offices in Bende, Item and Igbere where our people can see him, not just on Facebook.
2. He Understands Youth Empowerment Beyond Social Media:
   As Sports Commissioner, his greatest asset was the youth. He knows our youths don’t need N2,000 data money to insult each other. They need jobs, skills, and opportunities.

When elected, Hon. Karibe will establish:

• Bende Youth Sports & Skills Academy to discover talents and train youths in ICT, agriculture and entrepreneurship.

• Bende Youth Internship Scheme to link our graduates to federal parastatals and job opportunities.
• Mentorship for Young Aspiring Politicians — He will not use youths and dump them. He will raise the next generation of Bende leaders. This is crucial for the future of Ala Bende.

3. He Is A Apostle of Equity and Zoning:
   Hon. Karibe believes in balance. He believes in the principle of “Live and Let Live.” He is contesting because he believes every part of Bende deserves to be heard. He will ensure no community is left behind. Whether you are from Ugwueke, Uzuakoli, Umuhu, Ozuitem, Umunna or Bende town — you will feel his representation.
4. He Has A Clear Blueprint for Bende:
   He is not contesting because he is hungry. He is contesting because he has a plan:

• Roads: Push for federal intervention on Bende-Aba, Bende-Ugwueke, and internal farm roads.
• Light: Lobby for rural electrification for Item and other communities in darkness.
• Healthcare: Facilitate upgrade of our health centres with modern equipment and staff.
• Education: Attract federal educational projects and scholarships for Bende children.

NDI BENDE, THE FUTURE IS NOW

Hon. Karibe Ojigwe is young, vibrant, educated, accessible and God-fearing. He is not an Abuja-based politician who only comes home for burial. He is home-based. He is one of us.

In 2027, let us not sell our votes for N20,000. Let us invest our votes in a man who will give us N200,000 worth of projects, opportunities and hope.

He has served Abia as Commissioner. Now, let him serve Bende as our Federal Representative.
