The re-election of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has received a major boost with the official inauguration of the Chinedu Onyeizu Reformative Movement, a grassroots political structure established to mobilize support ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The movement, which was formally inaugurated this Friday at the Aba Town Hall, drew a large turnout of party faithful, supporters, and stakeholders from across Abia South. The newly-constituted Central Executive Committee comprises notable party stalwarts drawn from the six local government areas of Abia South Senatorial District, reflecting a broad-based and inclusive structure.

Speaking at the event, the Convener of the Movement, Engr Chinedu Onyeizu, emphasized that the initiative is not driven by personal political ambition, but by a genuine desire to ensure continuity of the ongoing transformation in Abia State under Governor Otti’s leadership.
“This movement being inaugurated today has nothing to do with my personal political aspirations,” Onyeizu stated. “It is solely about ensuring the seamless re-election of our dear Governor. We are all witnesses to the state of Abia before 2023, and what it is today. The only way to sustain the massive transformation currently taking place across the state is to re-elect Governor Alex Otti.”
He charged members of the Movement to take the message to every ward, community, and household, urging them to become committed advocates for the governor’s second term.
“I urge you all to go out and make yourselves disciples of the re-election of our Governor. Let us spread the message of good governance, accountability, and people-oriented leadership,” he added.
Several speakers at the inauguration commended Governor Otti for what they described as his impactful leadership, infrastructural renewal, fiscal discipline, and commitment to restoring confidence in governance across Abia State. They also praised Onyeizu for his foresight and dedication in forming a Movement aimed at consolidating these gains.
In their remarks, the speakers pledged unwavering support for the Movement’s objectives, assuring that members would work tirelessly to galvanize grassroots support and expand the governor’s acceptance ahead of 2027.
As part of the event, food items, numbering about 600 bags of rice, were distributed to various wards across Abia South, a gesture organizers said reflects the Movement’s commitment to grassroots engagement and people-centered politics.
The inauguration of the Chinedu Onyeizu Reformative Movement marks a significant step in early mobilization efforts, signaling growing momentum around Governor Alex Otti’s re-election bid and strengthening the political base for continuity in Abia State.
