The President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) of Nigeria, Prince Emeka Kalu (Magic Fingers), delivered a compelling goodwill message at the 81st General Assembly/23rd Annual General Meeting of the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON), held on Wednesday, 8th April 2026 at Hawthorn Suites.
Addressing a distinguished gathering of industry leaders and stakeholders, President Kalu underscored the indispensable role of broadcasting professionals in shaping public opinion, deepening democratic values, and preserving the credibility of Nigeria’s media space.


He emphasized that ethical broadcasting remains the cornerstone of a responsible and impactful industry, especially in an era defined by rapid technological advancement and information dissemination.
Prince Kalu highlighted RATTAWU’s longstanding influence within the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria, noting that the Union remains a critical pillar in promoting professionalism, protecting workers’ rights, and ensuring high standards across the sector.
The President further called for sustained unity among stakeholders, encouraging broadcasters to embrace innovation while remaining firmly guided by ethical principles. He stressed that the future of broadcasting in Nigeria depends on collaborative efforts that prioritize integrity, accountability, and capacity building.


Reaffirming the Union’s commitment, President Kalu assured BON and its members of RATTAWU’s readiness to deepen collaboration, foster mutual respect, and work collectively towards advancing the broadcasting landscape in Nigeria.
He noted that stronger partnerships between RATTAWU and BON would not only enhance industry standards but also ensure a more sustainable and progressive future for media practitioners nationwide.
