The Executive Secretary and CEO of the Abia State Diaspora Commission, Rev. Amb. Annie Onu, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to working closely with the German Embassy to protect and promote the interests of Abians residing in Germany.
During a courtesy visit to the German Embassy in Abuja, Rev. Onu, accompanied by senior Commission officials, emphasized that this engagement is part of broader efforts to enhance Abia State’s global image, particularly under the leadership of Governor Otti.

She noted that the initiative is designed to help Abians living abroad remain compliant with local laws, receive adequate support and representation, and continue making meaningful contributions to both Nigeria and their countries of residence.
“The main goal of our familiarization visit is to identify areas where we can collaborate for the benefit of our citizens,” Rev. Onu stated.
Rev. Onu expressed optimism that the strengthened relationship with the German Embassy will lead to more robust support networks and improved advocacy for Abians in Germany. She reiterated the Commission’s commitment to ongoing collaboration with international partners to address the needs and aspirations of the diaspora. The visit concluded with both parties pledging to maintain open communication and work together in advancing the welfare and positive image of Abia citizens abroad.
