Traditional, religious and community leaders in Abia Ohafia community have expressed support for the senatorial aspiration of Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, citing his previous interventions and projects in the community during his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives.
The stakeholders made their position known during a consultation with Uko Nkole in Abia Ohafia, where discussions centred on his bid to represent Abia North Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, as well as the presidential project around Mr. Peter Obi/Kwankwaso.
Speaking the community women’s leader anchored their support because of his past records having influenced life touching projects particularly equipping the Abia Ohafia Women Primary Health Care Centre their only available facility that aided the women deliver children like the “Hebrew Women” the facilitation of modern instructional materials,tables chairs , computer sets ,power packs for their pupils in the community primary schools youth empowerments ,training of teachers to adopt to the modern technology deployed to the school etc and other human capital development initiatives he facilitated during his time in the National Assembly.
The engagement also reflected Uko Nkole’s renewed emphasis on grassroots development, with the former lawmaker presenting his ongoing consultations as part of a broader effort to reconnect with communities and pursue initiatives capable of delivering meaningful impact at the grassroots.
Earlier the Renewed Hope Initiatives for Grassroots Development Ohafia Chapter , paid a courtesy visit to Hon Nkole’s country home and pledged their support for his Senatorial bid ,Nkole thanked them and reinforced the focus of his current political mobilization/vision anchored on community development, representation and the need to sustain projects that directly affect the lives of constituents.
The former lawmaker also received the Executive Committee of the Ohafia Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria during the visit.
For Uko Nkole, the engagements provide another opportunity to reconnect with constituents and present his case for a return to the National Assembly, while seeking support for his senatorial ambition and the Peter Obi-led political project.
