Frontline aspirant for the Abia South Senatorial seat, Engr Chinedu Onyeizu, has officially withdrawn from the 2027 senatorial race, reaffirming his commitment to party discipline, unity, and collective progress.
In a statement made available to supporters and party faithful across Abia South, Onyeizu said his decision was taken in obedience to the directive and position of the party leadership, stressing that the interest of the party and the Senatorial District must remain above personal ambition.

The respected engineer and politician expressed profound gratitude to Governor Alex Otti, his supporters, political associates, youths, women groups, and stakeholders across the six local government areas of the Senatorial District for their overwhelming encouragement, solidarity, and belief in his vision for Abia South.
According to him, the love, support, and goodwill shown to him throughout the consultation period remain deeply appreciated and will never be taken for granted.
Engr Onyeizu urged his supporters to remain calm, steadfast, and committed to the ideals of the party, while throwing their full weight behind the party’s candidate and leadership structure ahead of the 2027 general elections. He noted that true leadership is not always about occupying a position, but about making sacrifices that will strengthen unity, peace, and the collective aspiration of the people.
He further reiterated his unwavering loyalty to the party and assured that he would continue to contribute meaningfully towards the growth and success of the party, as well as the advancement of Abia South and Abia State in general.
Political observers have described Onyeizu’s decision as a demonstration of maturity, discipline, and statesmanship, capable of fostering greater unity within the party ranks ahead of the elections.
