The security architecture of Abia State has received a significant boost with the deployment of Air Commodore SP Sekegor as the First Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Commander in the State.
Air Commodore Sekegor joined heads of other security agencies today at the monthly State Security Meeting chaired by the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR.

Recall that Governor Otti had earlier approved the allocation of at least 100 hectares of land to the NAF within the site of the ongoing Abia Airport project, in support of plans to establish an operational and training base in the State.
In addition to the land approval, the Governor during the working visit few weeks ago, assured the NAF delegation led by Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Gabriel Kehinde, Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Ground Training Command, of speedy issuance of the Certificates of Occupancy (Cs of O), in line with the administration’s policy of delivering Certificates of Occupancy within 30 days of application upon fulfillment of the requirements.
Governor Otti had during the meeting further assured the NAF delegation that his government would put the contractor handling the renovation project of the Air Force office in Umuahia being arranged for them by the State Government under pressure, to ensure that he delivers it before the end of April to enable the Chief of Air Staff to come and take delivery of the office.
Air Commodore Sekegor assumed duty from the Nigeria Air Force Base in Imo State, bringing with him valuable operational experience expected to enhance security coordination in Abia State.
Also present at the meeting was the newly posted State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Odimba Chukwuemeka Nichosin, who attended his First State Security Meeting.
Governor Otti, as the Chief Security Officer of the State, continues to demonstrate commitment to maintaining peace and security by providing necessary support to security agencies, fostering inter-agency synergy, and holding regular monthly security reviews to sustain and consolidate the gains achieved by his administration.
Security remains a top priority to His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, and he is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Abia remains safe and secure for every law-abiding citizen to live and go about their normal businesses.
