Abia State’s rising industrial transformation took centre stage this Tuesday at the Africa Energy Summit in Kigali, drawing strong interest from policymakers, investors, and energy experts across the continent.

One of the key moments of the summit was a lead presentation by Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu – respected energy expert and co-founder of the Abia Industrial Innovation Park (AIIP). He shared the innovative AIIP model with regional energy specialists, highlighting how Abia is integrating modern power solutions with industrial expansion.
Onyeizu’s session ignited conversations on how subnational governments can drive industrialisation through energy security. Delegates were particularly intrigued by the renewed manufacturing momentum in Aba, driven by improved energy access, upgraded infrastructure, and clearer pro-business policies. Many participants cited Aba as a model for indigenous African manufacturing potential.
Investor interest in Abia’s AIIP was notable, with several international partners expressing willingness to explore collaborations in renewable energy and industrial power solutions.
