Hon. Chukwuemeka Ogbonnaya, popularly known as “Cashflow Bende,” Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, has urged all party stakeholders to rally together for robust grassroots mobilisation ahead of upcoming elections.

In a statement issued recently, Hon. Ogbonnaya emphasised the critical need for voter education to counter voter apathy, which he identified as a major factor behind the “wrong choice of leaders” in Nigeria. He noted that many eligible voters abstain from participating in elections, thereby allowing a minority to determine outcomes that affect the broader populace.

“The real voters do not come out to vote,” Hon. Ogbonnaya warned, stressing that “our votes will always count, irrespective of what they tell you.” He called for heightened awareness campaigns to encourage registration and turnout, asserting that sustained voter education is essential to re‑orient citizens away from apathy and towards active participation in shaping Nigeria’s future.

Hon. Ogbonnaya commended the national leadership of ADC for positioning the party as a viable alternative to the existing political landscape, expressing confidence that “God is going to use ADC to rescue Nigerians.” He urged party members, community leaders, and well‑meaning citizens to join hands in driving the ADC’s agenda of good governance, accountability, and inclusive development.

The ADC chairman’s appeal comes amid a broader national discourse on declining voter turnout, with recent analyses highlighting voter apathy as a persistent challenge across Nigeria. By rallying grassroots structures and intensifying civic education, Hon. Ogbonnaya aims to reverse this trend in Bende LGA and set a precedent for other constituencies within Abia State.
