Former Vice President and PDP Presidential Candidate in 2023, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the threat issued by Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, against Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Atiku emphasised that any threat against Obi or any opposition figure is a threat to all, stating, “Let it be known that a threat against Peter Obi or any of us is a threat against ALL of us!”

This statement comes after Governor Okpebholo warned Peter Obi not to visit Edo State without seeking proper security clearance, hinting that Obi’s safety wouldn’t be guaranteed otherwise.

Atiku’s reaction underscores the need for collective solidarity among opposition figures and highlights the critical importance of peaceful democratic processes.

Atiku’s call for unity serves as a reminder that Nigeria’s democracy relies on protecting the freedom and safety of every citizen’s participation in the political process. The former vice president’s stance reinforces the message that political intimidation will not be tolerated, and the opposition is resolved to defend its members.
