A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chidiebere J. Okoh, has described the reported omission of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, from the APC Campaign list as an error that could prove costly for the party if not urgently corrected.
Okoh, who is also a staunch supporter of the Deputy Speaker, said Kalu has made significant contributions towards strengthening the APC and promoting the party across the South-East, stressing that his efforts have produced enormous results.

According to him, the Deputy Speaker has remained a major political force in the region and an important asset to the APC’s efforts to expand its support base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He warned that any action or administrative error capable of sidelining Kalu from the party’s 2027 election campaign could have serious consequences for the APC in the South-East.
“Any mistake that sidelines the Deputy Speaker from the 2027 election campaign will be costly for the APC in the South-East,” Okoh stated.
The Abia APC chieftain therefore called on the leadership of the party to immediately correct the reported omission and ensure that all critical stakeholders are properly carried along in the preparations for the 2027 elections.
He said the APC must work as one united political family, leveraging the strength, experience and networks of its leaders and stakeholders to secure victory for the party.
Okoh further expressed confidence that with proper coordination and unity, the APC can mobilise the necessary support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across the South-East and secure the votes required for his re-election in 2027.
He stressed that the focus at this stage should be on strengthening the party rather than allowing avoidable errors to create unnecessary divisions among its stakeholders.
According to him, “The 2027 election is too important for avoidable mistakes. Everyone who has contributed to the growth of the APC must be carried along. We need all hands on deck to deliver victory for the party and ensure that President Tinubu gets all the votes he needs from the South-East.”
Okoh urged the APC leadership to treat the matter with urgency, saying that recognising and retaining the contributions of key stakeholders would be crucial to building a formidable campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
