Abuja – Representation is not a postcode.
On March 23, a former police officer walked into Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa’s office in Abuja. He was not from Arochukwu. He was not from Ohafia. He was simply a Nigerian who had served his country and was abandoned by the very system he had protected.
Hon. Ibe was on his way to a committee meeting and had only a few minutes to spare.
He chose empathy over excuses. He chose action over appointments.
“Take every detail,” he instructed his staff.
He then wrote two letters: one to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and another to the House Committee on Police Affairs. All for one man. Because one person’s pain is enough to demand justice.
That is who Hon. Ibe is.
He understands that pain knows no constituency boundaries. Whether it is the widow whose husband died while serving abroad and who waited years for compensation, the federal worker denied salary for a decade, or the community in Idima Abam seeking answers after a murder, none of these were political cases. They were human cases.
And he treated them as such by raising them on the floor of the House until the system responded.
For Hon. Ibe, empathy is not a campaign slogan; it is a work ethic. He understands what representation truly means: listening when no cameras are watching, documenting concerns when time is short, and fighting until results are achieved.
That is how he has transformed the challenges of ordinary Nigerians into motions, letters, and resolutions that compel institutions to act.
Arochukwu/Ohafia gave him the mandate. Nigerians across the country have felt the impact.
The 2027 election is not about starting over. It is about consolidating what works. It is about keeping open a door that already responds when Nigerians knock.
We know the man. We know the method. We know the results.
Now, we must work together. We must organise. We must mobilise. And we must ensure that Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa is re-elected, so that empathy remains in that office and representation continues to mean action, not merely a name on the ballot.
