Navy accuses NNPC of exaggerating figures, not being sincere about oil theft

The Nigerian Navy has accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited of not revealing the actual cause(s) of crude oil theft in the country, but reeling out exaggerated figures to save its face. This disclosure was made to the Senate Committee on Economic and Financial Crimes by the Navy Chief of Training and Operations, Rear Admiral Solomon Agada, during an interactive briefing of the relevant agencies implementing the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Management) Act, 2022 at the National Assembly. Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), has announced that there will be power interruption in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) starting from Friday, 25th to Saturday, 26th of November 2022. See redesigned naira notes FG unveiled to general public

The Federal Government has unveiled the redesigned naira notes to the public. It was unveiled at the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari a few minutes ago. The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele warned Nigerians against hoarding of the old notes, saying there is no going back on the January 31st 2023 deadline to completely render the old notes useless. NBS reveals that 133 million Nigerians are poor

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has disclosed that 133 million Nigerians are multidimensionally poor. In its latest National Multidimensional Poverty Index Report launched on Thursday, the NBS said that 63 percent of Nigerians are poor due to a lack of access to health, education, and living standards, alongside unemployment and shocks. The MPI offers a multivariate form of poverty assessment, identifying deprivations across health, education, living standards, work, and shocks.
