Gov. Otti Flags Off Reconstruction Of Umuahia – Ikot-Ekpene Road, Says No Dichotomy In Fixing Roads.

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has flagged off the reconstruction of the long abandoned 25 kilometres Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene Road with assurance that the work will be completed within 18 months. Speaking while flagging-off the project on Friday, at Umuahia Timber Market, Governor Alex Otti described the project as an end to the age long nightmare of motorists and communities along that corridor . According to a statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, General Olufemi Oluyede has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), replacing General Christopher Musa. The new Chief of Army Staff is Major-General W. Shaibu; Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke has been appointed as the Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas is the new Chief of Naval Staff.
