Smartphones to use a universal charger from 2024

The EU parliament on Tuesday passed a new law requiring USB-C to be the single charger standard for all new smartphones, tablets, and cameras from late 2024. The measure, which EU lawmakers adopted with a vote of 602 in favor, and 13 against, will — in Europe at least — push Apple to drop its outdated Lightning port on its iPhones for the USB-C one already used by many of its competitors. Man kills younger brother in Kwara while testing anti-gunshot charm

A 12-year-old boy, Yusuf Abubakar, was shot to death on Sunday while testing a gunshot protective charm in Kaiama, Kwara North Senatorial District. He was shot to death by his elder brother, Abubakar Abubakar, a hunter in Dutse Gogo via Kaiama, in the Kaiama Local Government Area of the state. Both are sons of one Abubakar Abubakar in the town. Kwara Doctor kills girlfriend, housewife, buries corpses in office

The Kwara State Police Command said its operatives arrested a medical doctor, Adio Adeyemi, of Kaiama General Hospital, over the alleged kidnap and murder of two ladies. Adeyemi was alleged to have kidnapped and killed his girlfriend identified only as Ifeoluwa, and another housewife, Nofisat Halidu, in 2021. Ifeoluwa was declared missing in the Tanke area, while Nofisat, a housewife in Kaiama, was reported missing by her husband, Mr. Halidu.
