Court jails Kwara poly student over $9,891 fraud

A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday sentenced a 31-year-old student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Bashiru Azeez, to six months imprisonment over $9,891 fraud. Justice Adebayo Yusuf handed down the sentence while ruling on a fraud case instituted by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Bashiru who is from Oyan in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State is a student in the Marketing Department of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. Kwara Doctor kills girlfriend, housewife, buries corpses in office

The Kwara State Police Command said its operatives arrested a medical doctor, Adio Adeyemi, of Kaiama General Hospital, over the alleged kidnap and murder of two ladies. Adeyemi was alleged to have kidnapped and killed his girlfriend identified only as Ifeoluwa, and another housewife, Nofisat Halidu, in 2021. Ifeoluwa was declared missing in the Tanke area, while Nofisat, a housewife in Kaiama, was reported missing by her husband, Mr. Halidu.
