Gunmen in Military Uniform Kill Soldier, Driver in Abia Construction Site Attack

Suspected kidnappers dressed in military camouflage attacked a construction site in Nunya, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, on Saturday evening, July 12, 2025, killing a soldier and a driver employed by a Chinese engineering firm. According to eyewitnesses, approximately six gunmen armed with assault rifles arrived at the site on three motorcycles around dusk. The attackers opened fire, killing the driver instantly and fatally shooting a soldier providing security, whose rifle was allegedly stolen before the assailants fled.
