Group demands Aba North Assembly seat be vacated, threatens protest

The Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youth Groups has asked Abia State House of Assembly Speaker Emmanuel Emereuwa to declare the seat vacant in seven days. The Aba North seat has been controversial since November 27, 2023, when the Lagos Court of Appeal removed Destiny Nwagwu of LP and proclaimed Aaron Uzodike of the PDP the legitimately elected representative. Despite his repeated requests, the Speaker has not inaugurated PDP candidate Uzodike since November 2023.
