Dr. Martina Ononiwu Preaches Unity, Political Maturity Among Fellow Federal House Aspirants
In a powerful message of unity, maturity, and political statesmanship, Dr. Martina Ononiwu has extended goodwill to her fellow contestants in the race for the Federal House of Representatives seat representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect, relationship-building, and collective development above political rivalry.
Reflecting on lessons learned throughout the political journey, Dr. Ononiwu stated that leadership manifests in different forms and acknowledges that every aspirant brought unique strengths, perspectives, and energy into the contest.

She commended fellow aspirant Chukwudi Apugo for his calm disposition, strategic mindset, and relationship-building abilities, describing his political style as one rooted in composure and strong interpersonal connections across varying interests and political structures.
According to her, politics thrives on relationships, and Apugo demonstrates an admirable capacity to maintain relevance through engagement and diplomacy throughout the process.
Dr. Ononiwu also praised Mark Ugorji for his consistency, focus, and determination, noting that his seriousness and resilience in navigating the political process deserved recognition.
Speaking on Randie Ukanwoke, she highlighted his grassroots appeal, accessibility, and connection with ordinary people, describing him as a formidable mobilizer whose strength lies in staying close to the people. In a lighthearted moment, she referenced his multilingual abilities, underscoring his effectiveness in political mobilization and grassroots engagement.
She further acknowledged the boldness, confidence, and commanding presence of Don Lulu, popularly described as a “city boy superstar,” noting that his political style brought visibility, energy, and strong public engagement to the race.
Beyond commendations, Dr. Ononiwu used the moment to stress a broader lesson drawn from the political process — that no single individual possesses all the ideas, relationships, or solutions necessary for sustainable development.
She argued that meaningful progress in the constituency can only emerge when experience, influence, innovation, grassroots engagement, capacity, and visionary leadership are combined in pursuit of shared goals rather than personal ambition.
While elections may come and go, she maintained that relationships, mutual respect, and the long-term development of the constituency must remain priorities bigger than political competition.
Reaffirming her commitment to the progress of the constituency, Dr. Ononiwu expressed hope that all aspirants, regardless of political outcomes, would continue contributing positively to the growth and advancement of the people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South.
In what many observers may interpret as a call for political maturity and bridge-building, she concluded with a message underscoring unity over division, noting that history ultimately remembers those who build bridges rather than those who destroy them.
Thank you all.
