Chief Dr. Olugu Ukpai, Chief Executive Officer of Challenge AIDS and Malaria in Africa (CHAMA), a Canada-based humanitarian organization, has congratulated Chief Kalu Ikpemini on his election as the President-General of the Ohafia Improvement Union (OIU).
Speaking to OHAFIATV from Canada, Dr. Ukpai commended the emergence of Chief Ikpemini, describing him as “one whom the cap truly fits.” He characterized the new OIU President-General as a trailblazer, a business magnet, an “irony twister,” and a master of complex situations, noting that he is result-oriented and highly committed to service.
Dr. Ukpai expressed confidence that Chief Ikpemini, working alongside his executive team, possesses the capacity to reposition the OIU and articulate a clear vision and roadmap that will lead the union to greater heights and development.
He also applauded the peaceful conduct of the election and the swift acceptance of the outcome by all contenders. In particular, Dr. Ukpai commended Chief Olugu Kalu Ugba for declaring the election free and fair and for extending an olive branch to all stakeholders to unite and work collectively for the progress of Ohafia.
The renowned philanthropist, recently named among the 100 Most Influential Ohafians and inducted into the Ohafia Hall of Fame, reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Ohafia, stating that he is “available in any capacity” to contribute, adding that “no place is like home.”
