OFFICIAL MESSAGE TO THE LEADERSHIP AND STAKEHOLDERS OF OUR GREAT PARTY, APC
To the State Leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), respected stakeholders, elders, leaders, and party faithful,

I extend my sincere respect and appreciation to every individual who played one role or another throughout the recently concluded House of Representatives primary process.
Politics, by its very nature, is a difficult journey — one that tests not only ambition, but also character, patience, emotional discipline, and commitment to a larger cause beyond self.
Over the past months, I entered this process with conviction, hope, and a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully to the progress of our constituency, our state, and our party. Along the way, I encountered overwhelming support from ordinary citizens, women, youths, professionals, party members, and leaders who believed in the possibility of broader inclusion and a different style of leadership rooted in competence, accessibility, and service.
Naturally, recent developments have been personally painful.
I would not be honest if I pretended otherwise.
However, leadership is not only defined by how one behaves in moments of celebration, but even more by the wisdom, restraint, and maturity one demonstrates in moments of disappointment.
At this critical time, I have chosen reflection over bitterness, peace over division, and long-term commitment over temporary emotion.
While individuals may experience setbacks, institutions must endure. The APC remains a platform filled with people of capacity, experience, and shared aspirations for the future of our nation and our state. For this reason, I will not allow personal disappointment to outweigh the larger responsibility we all carry toward preserving unity, stability, and progress within the party.
I also believe this moment offers an opportunity for deeper introspection within our political culture about the importance of encouraging wider participation, strengthening internal trust, and ensuring that emerging voices — especially women, youths, professionals, and first-time entrants — continue to find meaningful pathways for contribution and growth within the party structure.
To the many supporters who stood firmly beside me throughout this journey, I remain deeply grateful for your sacrifices, loyalty, encouragement, and belief. Your support has strengthened my resolve to continue contributing positively to society and to public service in whatever capacity God grants.
I therefore reaffirm my commitment to constructive engagement, peaceful political participation, and the continued advancement of our people and our party.
The future is still ahead of us.
And history, in the end, is often kinder to those who choose dignity, patience, and purpose even in difficult seasons.
May wisdom guide us all.
Best Regards
Dr. Martina Ononiwu Akajiaku I ,
