Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, has mourned the death of the Paramount Ruler of Ebem Ujuruzie Ancient Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, JP, Ezieogo, who died on September 26, 2026, at the age of 89.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Cyril Chukwudi Eke Mba, on October 5, Emetu described the late monarch’s death as a significant loss to Ebem Ujuruzie, recalling his long service on the traditional stool and his role in the affairs of the community.

The Deputy Governor said the late Ezieogo’s years on the throne made him an important part of the history of Ebem Oha, adding that traditional leadership depends on the experience, judgment and authority of those entrusted with the institution.
Emetu said the death would be felt by the monarch’s family, the Council of Chiefs, traditional rulers, elders and members of Ebem Ujuruzie who looked to him for guidance on community matters.
He condoled with the immediate family of the deceased, the Council of Chiefs and the people of Ebem Ujuruzie Ancient Kingdom.
The Deputy Governor also extended his condolences to Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and others who mourned the monarch.
Emetu prayed for comfort for the bereaved family and the people of Ebem Oha, while asking them to preserve the peace, unity and cultural values of the kingdom for which the late monarch served.
