The Chairman of Rhino Group, Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the timely delivery of a world-class Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, Abia State – a modern commercial hub being developed by one its subsidiaries Rhino Homes and Properties Limited
Speaking during an inspection tour and media briefing, Engr. Onyeizu assured stakeholders that the massive commercial development, when completed, would reposition Aba as a dominant hub for the textile and garment trade in Africa.
According to him, the vision behind the Ekeoha-Aba Shopping Centre goes beyond a local marketplace, as it is being designed to meet international commercial standards.
“This project is not just for Aba or Abia State alone. It is for Nigeria and for Africa. When completed, Ekeoha Shopping Centre will serve as the heartbeat of textile commerce on the continent,” he said.
Reacting to questions on the pace and extent of work, Engr. Onyeizu disclosed that over 80 per cent of construction has been completed in some of the blocks, while work has advanced significantly in others. He explained that the only exception remains one block that was under temporary seal following a prop-related structural incident that occurred about two months ago, which has been unsealed, of which work has speedily commenced on it.
He assured traders, investors, and the general public that all necessary engineering assessments and safety measures have been meticulously handled to ensure structural integrity.
During the site visit, observers confirmed unprecedented progress across the complex, with roofing, internal fittings, and finishing works underway in many sections. The scale of the project, combined with its strategic importance to Aba’s commercial ecosystem, underscores its potential to transform the city into a modern trading powerhouse.
Engr. Onyeizu further reiterated that quality, safety, and durability remain non-negotiable standards in the execution of the project, stressing that Rhino Homes and Properties Ltd is determined to deliver a shopping centre that will stand the test of time and compete with the best commercial hubs anywhere in the world.
He further praised Governor Alex Otti for the vision, and other infrastructural transformations going on across the length and breath of the state.
