The Director General of the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), Elder Engr. Obinna Odum, has reaffirmed his commitment to deepening grassroots mobilisation across Abia North in support of the re-election of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, and all Labour Party candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Odum made the declaration while receiving members of the Grassroots Supporters Movement for Hon. Ibe Osonwa, Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Asaga, Ohafia.

Addressing the delegation, the GODA Director General stressed the need for sustained grassroots engagement, urging members of the support group to look beyond individual political interests and unite behind every Labour Party candidate seeking elective office.
According to him, only a united political structure driven by the people can guarantee another resounding victory for Governor Otti and the Labour Party across Abia North and the state at large.
Engr. Odum further highlighted what he described as the transformational leadership of Governor Alex Otti, noting that the administration has continued to deliver people-centred projects and policies that are positively impacting communities through initiatives of the Greater Ohafia Development Authority and other strategic interventions across the state.
He maintained that the forthcoming elections would provide Abians with another opportunity to consolidate the gains already recorded under the present administration by returning Governor Otti and other Labour Party candidates to office with overwhelming mandates.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Grassroots Supporters Movement for Hon. Ibe Osonwa, Comrade Obasi Okwara, commended Elder Engr. Obinna Odum for his unwavering dedication to the development of Abia North and his consistent accessibility to young people.
He described the GODA Director General as a grassroots leader and a friend of the masses whose commitment to community development has continued to inspire confidence among the people.
Comrade Okwara also applauded Governor Alex Otti for what he called remarkable developmental achievements across Abia State, while equally commending the representation being provided by Hon. Ibe Osonwa in the House of Representatives.
According to him, the performance of both leaders has strengthened the resolve of members of the support group to work tirelessly towards securing their re-election.
Speaking on behalf of the councillors in attendance, the Councillor representing Okamu Ward in the Ohafia Legislative Council, Hon. Ige, expressed confidence that Governor Otti’s popularity remains strong at the grassroots.
He was joined by Hon. Uchendu Eni of Ohafor Ward and Hon. Kingsley Ajike of Ania Ward, who also reaffirmed their belief that the Governor continues to enjoy widespread acceptance among the people due to his administration’s developmental achievements.
In her vote of thanks, Ms. Gold Monday appreciated Elder Engr. Obinna Odum for the warm reception accorded the delegation and for reaffirming his commitment to supporting the group’s vision.
She described the meeting as productive, encouraging and inspiring, adding that members of the Grassroots Supporters Movement had renewed their resolve to mobilise support for Governor Alex Otti, Hon. Ibe Osonwa and other Labour Party candidates ahead of the next general elections.
