Yesterday, the 16th of October, was my first time boarding the electric bus. I travelled to ABSU (Abia State University), and when I was done with what I went to do, I saw the electric bus parked at the school pavilion, waiting for people to board (Final destination was Bus Terminal, Umuahia) I decided to try it out since I already had my card, which is required to access the bus.
I got to the door, handed my card to the man in charge, he scanned it, and I stepped in.
Honestly, yesterday was my first time experiencing such a beautiful innovation, advancement, and affordability in transportation in Nigeria. YES! YOU READ THAT RIGHT!

I have travelled to some countries, and access to such modern, comfortable, and affordable means of transportation is quite easy, provided you have the necessary document or card required for boarding. So, seeing and experiencing this in my own state made me genuinely happy.
First, let’s talk about AFFORDABILITY! The transportation cost is pocket-friendly, making it easier for people to move from one place to another without having to spend so much on transportation. In a time when the cost of living is a major concern for many Nigerians, having access to an affordable means of transportation is a big relief.
Now, the COMFORT!
From the moment I stepped into the bus, I could appreciate the difference. The environment was comfortable, the ride was smooth, and there was something refreshing about experiencing this kind of modern transportation right here in Abia State. No unnecessary stress, no rough ride, just a smooth journey towards my destination.
And let’s not forget the beauty of the innovation itself. We are talking about an electric bus! A modern means of transportation that speaks to progress, development, and a vision for a better future. This is the kind of development that makes you pause and appreciate the possibilities when leadership prioritises the needs of the people.
Governor Alex Otti, this is beautiful! 👏❤️
Beyond the roads, infrastructure, healthcare, environmental sanitation, and other visible changes happening in Abia, this electric bus initiative is another development worth experiencing firsthand.
Sometimes, you hear people talk about government projects, but experiencing one yourself hits differently. Yesterday, I wasn’t just hearing about the electric bus; I was inside it, enjoying the comfort, appreciating the affordability, and witnessing the kind of change that makes you hopeful about the future of your state.
And that singular experience reminded me of where my vote lies.
Because for me, development is not just about promises or political speeches. It is about the everyday experiences that make life easier for ordinary people. It is about being able to travel comfortably and affordably. It is about seeing your state gradually embrace innovations that you once admired in other countries.
If we can experience this kind of progress in Abia, then we should be encouraged to expect even more!
I may have boarded the electric bus for the first time yesterday, but the experience has definitely left a good impression on me.
To everyone who hasn’t tried it yet, if you have your access card, give it a try and experience it for yourself!
Abia is changing, and I am happy to witness and experience these changes firsthand.
And to everyone who is yet to collect their PVC, please, go and collect your PVC! Your vote is your voice, and your participation matters in shaping the future of our state. If we want to sustain the progress we are witnessing, we must be ready to play our part in the democratic process.
The New Abia must continue!
IT’S ALEX OTTI OR NOTHING!!!
