The Federal House Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, joined the Udumeze Ohafia and other dignitaries to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Ohafia people at this year’s Iri-Ji Ohamoha New Yam Festival.

Held at the Ohafia Central School Field, the event brought together notable figures including His Excellency, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, Deputy Governor of Abia State; Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, Executive Mayor of Ohafia LGA; Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke, Member representing Ohafia South at the Abia State House of Assembly; and Chief David Ogba (Bourdex), among others.
Hon. Okwara commended the organizers for preserving this age-long tradition and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting culture, unity, peace, and sustainable development across Ohafia communities.
The Iri-Ji Festival remains a symbol of gratitude, renewal, and communal harmony a proud reminder of who we are as a people.
