Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa Meets Ohafia LGA Former Councillors, Explains Workings Of The Green Chamber

The Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has held an interactive session with the Association of Former Elected Councillors, Ohafia Local Government Area, at the residence of Hon. Kingsley Imaga in Elu Ohafia.

Welcoming the lawmaker, the Coordinator of the body, Hon. Chief Agara Kalu of Anina, expressed the association’s willingness to work with him. The State Coordinator, Rt. Hon. Chief Ndukwe Ojo (Ogbotemba) of Nkporo, also affirmed the readiness of the association to work with Hon. Osonwa.

Responding to the questions raised, the lawmaker gave a detailed explanation of how the legislative budget operates, the process through which constituency projects are attracted, and the realities of legislative work in the Green Chamber over the past three years.

He also gave an account of interventions recorded across Ohafia LGA, among them the transformation of Ofali Agwu Secondary School in Amaekpu into Abia State’s first Smart School, the reconstruction and furnishing of Abia Community School, the classroom block at Ukwa Community Primary School in Nkporo, solar streetlights across major markets, and ongoing road works at Mgbaga and Ihenta in Ebem Ohafia.

Reference was also made to the recent free medical and surgical outreach, which ran at Ugwu Ufie PHC in Elughu Nkporo and Okagwe Agboji PHC in Abiriba as part of an exercise that recorded over 9,000 medical cases and 38 free surgeries across the constituency, as well as his motion on the floor of the House seeking urgent intervention on erosion in Amaekpu, Elu, Ebem, Nkporo and Abiriba, and his sustained engagement on the restoration of electricity to Ohafia.

On the matter of Abiriba, the lawmaker assured the gathering of his continued attention to the Ancient Kingdom.

Hon. Kingsley Imaga, who hosted the meeting, offered words of advice and encouragement to the lawmaker and gave the vote of thanks.

The engagement forms part of Hon. Osonwa’s continued consultations with stakeholders across the constituency.
