This week at the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, actively championed the interests of his constituents through legislative and humanitarian engagements.

In plenary, Hon. Osonwa presented a petition on behalf of Chief Steve Ochoma, ensuring that his concerns are formally documented and addressed through the appropriate legislative process.
He also moved a motion of urgent public importance highlighting the deteriorating conduct at stop-and-search checkpoints across the South East and South South regions. The lawmaker expressed concern over the presence of security officers who are improperly dressed or lack visible identification and rank tags — a situation he described as “dangerous and unacceptable,” especially as the festive season approaches. The motion calls for urgent reform to restore professionalism, public trust, and the safety of citizens.
Outside parliamentary duties, Hon. Osonwa paid a condolence visit to his aunt, Aunty Philo, and family members following the passing of his uncle, the revered Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai. He described the visit as deeply emotional, adding that his aunt’s strength and composure offered great comfort amid the loss.
Hon. Osonwa reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to serving his people with integrity, compassion, and diligence, expressing gratitude for their continued trust and support.
