Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member Representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has congratulated Chief Chijioke James Ume, popularly known as Ike Abam, on his recognition with the prestigious African Hero Award at the 15th edition of the Voice Achievers Award.
The award ceremony, held at the Hilton Kensington, brought together distinguished personalities and achievers in recognition of their contributions to society.
Hon. Osonwa, who was present at the event to stand with his friend and brother, described the recognition as a fitting honour for Chief Ume’s years of humanitarian service, particularly through the Unubiko Foundation.
According to him, the award did not confer a new identity on Chief Ume but rather recognised the humanitarian values and selfless service he has consistently demonstrated over the years.
He noted that Chief Ume has quietly supported and empowered people, often without expecting anything in return, describing his humanitarian efforts as a reflection of a life dedicated to lifting others.
“A son of Abam has been honoured on a global stage for a life he has been living quietly at home,” Osonwa said.
The lawmaker expressed pride in the achievement, stating that Arochukwu/Ohafia is proud of Chief Chijioke James Ume and his contributions to humanity.
He further congratulated the award recipient and wished him greater accomplishments in his continued service to humanity.
