The Ibeku Egwu Asaa Development Association (IEADA) has commended the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for the appointment of Dr. Emmanuel Meribole as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), describing the decision as a well-considered and timely move.

In a statement jointly signed by the President-General of the association, Chief Hon. Lawrence Okezie Odoemelem (Ikemba–Ibeku), and the Chairman of the Council of Ndi Eze Ibeku, HRH Eze Dr. Emmanuel Onwubuariri, the group congratulated Governor Otti for what it termed a “round peg in a round hole” appointment.

The association noted that Dr. Meribole’s track record, integrity, professional competence, and long-standing commitment to public service make him well suited for the strategic role of Secretary to the State Government. According to IEADA, the appointment reflects the governor’s confidence in proven capacity and underscores his administration’s commitment to effective governance.

Speaking on behalf of the entire Ibeku Egwu Asaa people at home and in the diaspora, the association expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for the confidence reposed in one of their sons, assuring that Dr. Meribole would justify the trust placed in him through dedicated, result-oriented service to Abia State.

IEADA further pledged its continued support and cooperation with the Otti administration, expressing optimism that the appointment would contribute significantly to inclusive governance and the realization of the administration’s vision for a greater Abia.

The group also wished Dr. Meribole a successful tenure in office and prayed for wisdom, good health, and divine guidance for Governor Otti as he continues to steer the affairs of the state.
