Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, has declared his readiness to defeat all other contestants in the race after officially receiving the party’s flag as its standard-bearer.

Speaking after the presentation of the NDC flag, Ojigwe said the development had further strengthened his resolve to take the battle to all contenders seeking to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The NDC candidate, who acknowledged the growing number of contestants in the race, said he was not intimidated by the field, declaring that he was prepared to confront all l contestants, should they remain in the race.

“I have received the flag, and I have accepted the responsibility that comes with it. Let all the contestants come. I am ready for them. This is not about the number of people contesting; it is about who has the capacity, courage and commitment to serve the people of Bende,” he declared.

Ojigwe said his emergence was not merely a personal political achievement but a call to service at a time when many Nigerians were yearning for a different kind of representation—one that gives priority to the needs, aspirations and dignity of ordinary citizens.

He also situated his candidacy within the wider political project of the NDC and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, saying the 2027 election presents Nigerians with an opportunity to renew their hope in the country.

According to him, the message behind the Obi presidential project goes beyond personalities and political positions, stressing that it speaks to Nigerians who desire a country where hard work can translate into opportunity and where public office can genuinely serve the public interest.

“For the ordinary people of Nigeria, there must be hope. The young people must have a future. Our traders, farmers, workers and small business owners must have a government that listens to them. That is the Nigeria we are working towards,” he said.

The Bende candidate urged voters to look beyond political propaganda and assess candidates based on their records, competence, character and understanding of the challenges confronting their constituents.

He further expressed confidence that the people of Bende would make their choice based on what he described as the need for purposeful and responsive representation.

The presentation of the NDC flag has therefore formally moved Ojigwe’s campaign into a new phase, with the Bende Federal Constituency contest expected to become increasingly competitive as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
