The Ndigbo for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Forum (NDI-ABAT) has strongly dismissed the alleged political collaboration between former Anambra State Governor, , and former Kano State Governor, , describing the alliance as politically insignificant ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement issued on Friday, the group also insisted that the purported opposition alignment under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) poses no electoral threat to the re-election bid of President .

According to the statement signed by the National Coordinator, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, and the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Peter Ozor, the Obi–Kwankwaso political movement “will crumble like a house of cards” when confronted with what it described as a stronger and more structured political bloc in the Southeast.
The group further claimed that the leadership structure associated with the Forum of Former Southeast Governors, led by the Minister of Works, , would deliver a significant voting bloc in support of President Tinubu.
“The Obi–Kwankwaso movement, with its supposed grand plans, will crumble like a house of cards in the face of Senator Umahi-led Former Southeast Governors Forum,” the statement read. It added that the platform is positioned to mobilise “an astonishing 11 million Igbo votes across the 774 Local Government Areas of the country” in favour of President Tinubu.
NDI-ABAT also reaffirmed its full support for the Forum of Former Southeast Governors, stating that it remains committed to ensuring Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. The group further argued that the opposition coalition under the NDC lacks cohesion and would struggle to gain meaningful political traction in the Southeast and among Ndigbo in the diaspora.
In a more cautionary tone, the group warned supporters of the Obi and Kwankwaso political movement against actions that could disrupt the electoral process, alleging possible attempts to introduce violence during the election period.
While urging restraint, the statement said the group “will not stand idly by” in the face of any “unpatriotic actions,” insisting it would resist any attempt to destabilize the region and uphold peace and democratic order.
As part of its mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 elections, NDI-ABAT announced two major political events: a Pro-Tinubu Summit scheduled for June 12, 2026 (Democracy Day), and a “Southeast 2 Million Man Rally” billed for July 2026.
According to the group, the events are aimed at strengthening support for President Tinubu in the Southeast and preventing a repeat of the 2023 electoral outcomes credited to the Labour Party’s strong performance in the region.
“The purpose of these events is clear: to ensure that President Tinubu’s victory in the Southeast is not only assured but sacrosanct,” the statement added.
