“In a powerful alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria’s real estate professionals are stepping forward as key drivers of national transformation. At a landmark conference in Umuahia, experts declared that the future of infrastructure development, investment growth, and economic stability may well depend on the strategic role of estate surveyors and Valuers.”
“Sir Mark Ugorji stated that the NIESV conference in Umuahia was deliberately aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting the vital role of estate surveyors and Valuers in infrastructure development, economic growth, and national planning through data-driven insights and professional collaboration.

Sir Mark Ugorji, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the 56th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, has underscored the strategic alignment between the institution and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing the initiative as a catalyst for Nigeria’s ongoing infrastructure transformation.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with famousreporters.com at the grand finale of the six-day conference held at the International Conference Centre, Abia State, Ugorji said:
“This conference was deliberately structured to reflect the development priorities of the present administration. The Renewed Hope Agenda has created a framework that aligns perfectly with our professional responsibilities.”
He explained that the conference tagged : ‘CORRIDORS, CONNECTIVITY, AND CAPITAL: Rethinking Real Estate Development along Renewed Hope Infrastructure Investment ‘ brought together professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders to examine “emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities” in estate surveying and valuation, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and national development.
Ugorji emphasised that the event highlighted critical themes such as “Development Corridors, Connectivity, Capacity Building, and renewable energy,” all of which directly support the Federal Government’s infrastructure drive.
“Currently, the present administration is undertaking massive infrastructural development across the country. Nigeria is gradually becoming a vast construction site. Roads are being built across regions, railways are expanding, and even the blue economy is receiving significant attention,” he said.
According to him, the conference served as a platform to demonstrate how estate surveyors and Valuers can support government efforts through professional expertise in land administration, property valuation, and infrastructure planning.
“When we talk about development corridors, we are referring to integrated systems—roads, railways, and transport networks—that enhance connectivity and enable economic growth. Our profession plays a critical role in making these systems efficient and sustainable.”
On the economic impact on the state, Ugorji noted that the conference significantly boosted local businesses in Umuahia, with increased activity in hospitality, transportation, and related sectors.
“Hotels recorded high occupancy, and businesses experienced a surge in patronage. Beyond immediate gains, the conference has positioned the state as a hub for investment dialogue and long-term development partnerships.”
He further described the event as “highly successful,” citing positive feedback from delegates and government representatives, while calling for stronger collaboration between the government and estate professionals.
“Effective property acquisition and infrastructure delivery cannot be achieved without the involvement of qualified estate surveyors and Valuers. We are committed to supporting government initiatives through expertise and constructive engagement.”
Reinforcing support for the President, Ugorji added:
“Our message to President Tinubu is one of encouragement. We acknowledge his efforts in driving infrastructure development and urge him to remain focused on policies that promote economic growth and improve the lives of Nigerians.”
He concluded that the conference would have lasting impact, noting that participants are leaving with actionable insights that will influence decision-making and contribute to national development.
