Nkole Takes 2027 Abia North Senate Campaign To Ohafia August Meetings, Receives Women’s Support

The 2027 senatorial ambition of Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole received another boost as the former federal lawmaker continued his engagement with communities across Ohafia during three separate August meetings, where women and community stakeholders reflected on his past interventions and expressed support for his aspiration to represent Abia North Senatorial Zone under the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The engagements, which took place at Ibina Ihenta, Amuma and Nkwebi, respectively provided an opportunity for Nkole to reconnect with the people, account for some of his previous interventions and seek their continued support ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ibina Ihenta: Women Recall Water, Education Interventions

At Ibina Ihenta, Ohafia, Nkole first paid a courtesy visit to the Ezie Nwanyi, who had specifically requested to see him. She received him in her home, prayed for his success and offered words of encouragement before he proceeded to the venue of the August meeting.

At the meeting, the women also prayed for Nkole and acknowledged his interventions in the community, particularly the provision of the only sustainable water scheme which, according to them, has remained a dependable source of water for the community since 2016.

They also recalled his continued support for the community’s primary school through the donation of modern instructional materials, generating sets, computers and other educational resources, noting that his record of intervention in the school remains unbroken.

Amuma: Women Remember Electricity Restoration, Community Shelter

At Amuma Ohafia, the women expressed appreciation for Nkole’s previous efforts, including the provision of a public shelter at the community square, which they described as an enduring intervention serving the community.

They also recalled his intervention following a storm that brought down transmission lines and cables along the route at Ndi Ibe, Ohafia, where he facilitated the replacement of high-tension poles and power lines, helping to restore electricity to the affected area.

The women said such interventions demonstrated a pattern of leadership anchored on responding to the practical needs of the people.

Nkwebi: Solar Street Lights, Youth Empowerment Take Centre Stage

At Nkwebi, the women similarly highlighted Nkole’s contributions to the community, particularly his role in facilitating the installation of the first-ever solar street lights in the community.

They also acknowledged the completion of youth-powered lock-up shops and other human-capital development initiatives which, according to them, have provided opportunities for young people and contributed to economic activity within the community.

Across the three August meetings, the recurring message from the women was a recognition of visible interventions, accessibility and a record of community engagement.

Speaking against the backdrop of his aspiration to return to the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole has continued to position his 2027 senatorial bid within a broader political agenda centred on the emergence of Mr. Peter Obi as President of Nigeria, with the NDC platform providing the vehicle for that political project.

Nkole’s campaign message to the people of Abia North is anchored on the need for credible representation at the Senate while simultaneously supporting the wider push for a Peter Obi presidency in 2027, which he presents as necessary for a new direction in Nigeria’s governance and development.

The former lawmaker’s engagements across Ohafia have therefore combined community accountability, grassroots consultation and political mobilisation, as he seeks the mandate of the people of Abia North to represent the zone in the Senate.

For the women at Ibina Ihenta, Amuma and Nkwebi, their August meetings provided another opportunity to assess the man behind the 2027 aspiration through the interventions they say they have witnessed in their communities.

And for Nkole, the message appears clear: the journey to 2027 is being built from the grassroots, one community and one engagement at a time.

Nkwebi: Ezieogo, Cabinet And Women Commend Nkole’s Interventions

At Nkwebi, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole also paid a courtesy call on Ezieogo Nkwebi and his cabinet, where he received commendation for his previous interventions and contributions to the development of the community.

The women, in a separate engagement, equally expressed appreciation for his efforts, particularly the installation of the first-ever solar street lights in the community, the completion of youth-powered lock-up shops, as well as other human-capital development initiatives.

The community leaders and women noted that the interventions remained part of the practical footprints of Nkole’s previous representation and community engagement, while encouraging him in his aspiration to return to the National Assembly in 2027.
