The Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) on penultimate Sunday made a strong statement of unity and organisation as its members turned out in impressive numbers to receive the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, during his working visit to Umuahia, Abia State.
The Minister was received by the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, while the RATTAWU delegation brought significant colour and visibility to the official engagement.
The reception was led by the union’s President, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu, popularly known as “Magic Fingers,” whose Golden Era administration has continued to project RATTAWU as a visible and organised voice within Nigeria’s media, theatre and creative sector.
With a strong presence at the event, Kalu ensured that the Minister’s arrival was met with a reception that reflected the union’s solidarity, discipline and professional pride.
The occasion further highlighted the strategic role of RATTAWU and the growing visibility of its leadership in engagements involving government and key stakeholders in Nigeria’s information and creative industries.
For the Golden Era administration under Prince Emeka Kalu, the Umuahia visit was another opportunity to demonstrate that RATTAWU is not only organised, but capable of making its presence count when it matters.
And on this occasion, the union certainly gave the Minister a welcome to remember.
