The President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) of Nigeria, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu (Magic Fingers), has called on members to support ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening and repositioning the Union for sustainable growth.

This call was made during his official visit to the Rivers State Council, with some members of the Central Working Committee(CWC), of the Union where he engaged key stakeholders in a strategic meeting focused on advancing the progress of the Union at the State level.

The visit was geared towards fostering unity, encouraging collaboration, and harnessing collective ideas that will reposition the Council on the path of development and productivity.

Deliberations at the meeting centered on the need for renewed commitment, effective leadership, and inclusive participation of members in building a stronger and more vibrant Union structure in Rivers State.

A major highlight of the engagement was the inauguration of a Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the Council, since the tenure of the existing Care taker has long elapsed.

The New Caretaker Committee is chaired by Comrade Jackson Ikpochien, with Comrade Dr. Lawrence Owhonda to serve as Secretary, Mijan Egbeha; Treasurer, while Comrades, Uchechukwu Amadi, Uchechukwu Amadi, Pedro Ibama , Evelyn Edet, are to serve as members.

The President expressed confidence in the newly constituted Committee, urging them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and a strong sense of unity in order to lay a solid foundation for the Council’s progress.

He reaffirmed the national leadership’s commitment to supporting the Rivers State Council and ensuring that the Union continues to thrive across all levels.
