The President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu (Magic Fingers), delivered a strong and inspiring goodwill message at the 2025 Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (IBAN).
He commended IBAN and all broadcast stakeholders for standing tall amidst harsh economic realities and continuing to sustain the transmission of quality programmes to millions of viewers across the country. He reminded them that “the story of Nigeria must be told by Nigerians — boldly, responsibly, and unapologetically rooted in our realities.”

Comrade Kalu urged broadcasters to join voices with the Government as the last line of defense for a truly Nigerian story that is authentic, diverse, and reflective of the nation’s evolving identity.
He also saluted the African Independent Television (AIT) for providing space for their workers to unionize under RATTAWU, reaffirming that “AIT already has RATTAWU, and we are still awaiting others.” He emphasized that empowering workers strengthens the entire broadcast industry, enhances national cohesion, and drives digital progress.
RATTAWU remains committed to partnering with IBAN and all broadcasters to build a more ethical, inclusive, and progressive media sector — because together, we can tell Nigeria’s story better.
